Precision Red — Iron 19 mg + Folate Oral Strips | Raspberry | 30 Strips
Precision Red — Iron + Folate Oral Strips
19 mg Iron • 400 mcg DFE Folate • Raspberry
A portable, dissolvable iron + folate strip designed for adults who have a defined reason to supplement iron — with clearly disclosed amounts and none of the “take iron for energy just in case” marketing.
What Is Precision Red?
Precision Red is a raspberry-flavored oral strip providing two nutrients with defined roles in normal blood-cell biology:
- Iron — 19 mg as ferric saccharate / 106% DV
- Folate — 400 mcg DFE / 100% DV
The folate declaration corresponds to:
240 mcg folic acid.
The strip format eliminates capsules, tablets, water, and measuring.
But iron deserves more respect than a typical convenience supplement.
Iron Is Not a “Take It Just in Case” Nutrient.
Iron deficiency is common — especially in menstruating people and other higher-risk groups — but excessive iron is not harmless. The right question is not “Could more iron give me energy?” It is “Do I have a reason to need more iron?”
What Does Iron Actually Do?
Iron is required for normal production of:
- hemoglobin
- myoglobin
- multiple iron-containing enzymes
Hemoglobin carries oxygen in red blood cells.
When iron status becomes inadequate, symptoms can eventually include:
- fatigue
- weakness
- reduced exercise tolerance
- difficulty concentrating
- shortness of breath with exertion in more significant deficiency
Those symptoms are not specific enough to diagnose iron deficiency by themselves.
Fatigue Is Not an Iron Test.
Iron deficiency is evaluated with clinical context and laboratory testing — commonly including ferritin and, depending on the situation, CBC and transferrin saturation.
The cause matters too. Heavy menstrual bleeding, gastrointestinal blood loss, pregnancy, low intake, malabsorption, bariatric surgery, and other conditions can produce very different management plans.
How Significant Is 19 mg of Iron?
One strip provides:
19 mg iron — 106% of the Daily Value.
For perspective, recommended iron intake varies dramatically by life stage.
| Adult Group | Typical Recommended Intake |
|---|---|
| Men ages 19–50 | 8 mg/day |
| Women ages 19–50 | 18 mg/day |
| Adults 51+ | 8 mg/day |
| Pregnancy | 27 mg/day |
Precision Red therefore provides a substantial iron amount relative to ordinary adult daily requirements.
More Is Not Better.
The adult Tolerable Upper Intake Level for iron is 45 mg/day from all sources for generally healthy adults. Therapeutic treatment of diagnosed iron deficiency may intentionally use different amounts under professional guidance.
What Form of Iron Is Used?
Precision Red provides:
Iron as Ferric Saccharate.
Ferric iron and ferrous iron are not identical forms.
NIH notes that ferrous iron salts are generally more bioavailable than ferric iron salts because ferrous iron is more soluble.
That does not tell us the exact absorption of this finished oral-strip formulation.
What We Will Not Claim
ProofMode does not describe ferric saccharate as “superior,” “better absorbed,” or “gentler” unless those claims are supported by data for this actual finished formulation.
Why Add Folate?
Folate is vitamin B9.
It is required for:
- DNA synthesis
- cell division
- normal formation of blood cells
Each strip provides:
400 mcg DFE folate — 100% DV
from:
240 mcg folic acid.
Why Does the Label Show Two Folate Numbers?
Folate is labeled in Dietary Folate Equivalents (DFE) because folic acid from supplements and fortified foods is more bioavailable than naturally occurring food folate. The label correctly declares 400 mcg DFE from 240 mcg folic acid.
Why Pair Iron and Folate?
Both nutrients participate in normal red-blood-cell biology.
But they solve different deficiency problems.
Iron deficiency and folate deficiency are not interchangeable diagnoses.
Folate does not “activate” the iron.
And iron does not make folate work better.
Support the Blood. Confirm the Need.
Iron can be extremely useful when iron is the problem. It can be completely unnecessary when it is not.
Why an Oral Strip?
The main advantage is convenience.
Each Precision Red strip is:
- premeasured
- portable
- individually packaged
- water-free
- easy to carry while traveling or working
The strip dissolves on the tongue before swallowing.
That format does not automatically establish:
superior buccal absorption.
ProofMode does not make that claim without finished-product pharmacokinetic data.
Who Might Have a Reason to Consider Iron?
Higher-risk situations can include:
- heavy menstrual bleeding
- pregnancy
- documented low iron stores
- blood loss
- certain restrictive diets
- malabsorption
- post-bariatric surgery
- other clinically identified iron-deficiency risk factors
The underlying cause should still be identified rather than repeatedly replacing iron without understanding why it is being lost.
Who Should Not Add Iron Casually?
Adult men and postmenopausal adults without a defined need:
Their routine iron requirements are generally lower than those of menstruating adults.
People with hereditary hemochromatosis or iron overload:
Supplemental iron may be inappropriate and potentially harmful.
Anyone already using another iron-containing multivitamin or prenatal:
Count total iron across the full daily regimen before adding another 19 mg.
Medication and Supplement Timing Matters
Supplemental iron can interact with certain medications.
Important examples include:
- levothyroxine
- levodopa
Calcium can also interfere with supplemental iron absorption.
If you use prescription medications or dedicated calcium supplements, review appropriate spacing with a pharmacist or other healthcare professional.
Remember to Count Folate Too
Precision Red provides:
240 mcg folic acid per strip.
Adults may also receive folic acid from:
- multivitamins
- prenatal vitamins
- fortified foods
- other B-complex supplements
The adult upper limit for folic acid from supplements and fortified foods is 1,000 mcg/day for most adults.
WARNING: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.
What We Are Not Going to Tell You
Precision Red does not:
- diagnose iron deficiency
- treat anemia
- guarantee more energy
- guarantee improved athletic performance
- fix fatigue of unknown cause
- replace investigation of blood loss
- provide “superior absorption” because it is a strip
- need to be added routinely to every adult's supplement stack

Frequently Asked Questions
How much iron is in Precision Red?
Each oral strip provides 19 mg of iron as ferric saccharate, equal to 106% of the Daily Value.
How much folate is in each strip?
Each strip provides 400 mcg DFE folate, equal to 100% of the Daily Value. This comes from 240 mcg of folic acid.
Is Precision Red an energy supplement?
No. Iron deficiency can contribute to fatigue, but iron does not function like a stimulant. If iron status is already adequate, adding iron should not be expected to create an energy boost.
Should everyone take iron?
No. Iron needs vary by age, sex, menstruation, pregnancy, diet, blood loss, and medical conditions. Iron supplementation is most rational when there is a defined nutritional or clinical reason.
How is iron deficiency diagnosed?
Iron deficiency is commonly evaluated with serum ferritin and clinical context. CBC and transferrin saturation may also be useful depending on the situation, particularly when inflammation or anemia complicates interpretation.
Can iron deficiency exist before anemia?
Yes. Iron stores can become depleted before hemoglobin falls enough to meet criteria for iron-deficiency anemia.
What form of iron is in Precision Red?
The label identifies ferric saccharate. ProofMode does not claim superior absorption or superior gastrointestinal tolerance for this finished oral-strip formulation without comparative data.
Is the oral strip absorbed through the mouth?
The strip dissolves on the tongue before swallowing. ProofMode does not claim clinically meaningful buccal absorption or superior bioavailability without finished-product pharmacokinetic data.
Can I take Precision Red with calcium?
Calcium can interfere with supplemental iron absorption. If maximizing iron absorption is important, dedicated calcium and iron supplements are commonly separated.
Can I take Precision Red with levothyroxine?
Iron can interfere with levothyroxine absorption. Appropriate separation should be reviewed with a pharmacist or prescribing clinician.
Is iron safe for children?
Iron overdose can be extremely dangerous in young children. This product must be stored out of their reach, and the required iron-overdose warning should remain prominently displayed.
